New Condos Around Uptown

The housing slump has deterred developers in many parts of the country, but Charlotte presses on. This last week brought two new developments in neighborhoods surrounding the Uptown. Both products are located outside of the Uptown in transitioning areas.

City View Terrace

The first product is located North of the Uptown at 12th and Graham. Called City View Terrace, these 4-level town homes are a unique product designed to appeal to those who are looking for something a little different. There are two floor plans which are roughly 1,200 and 1,500 sf. Each unit offers 2BR 2Bath layouts with a private garage and roof-top terrace. Units will be built with exposed trusses in LR, hardwoods, and Kalwall wall.

This development will provide a modern feel to the traditional townhome. Priced from the $350's, these 58 townhomes will provide beautiful views of the Uptown perched just to the North of 277. This development will be a short block from the entrance to the NC Music Factory which is scheduled to open in early '08.

Chelsea South End

The second new development to be released in the last week is a new condominium in the South End at the corner of West Blvd and Tryon. Called Chelsea South End, these condos will provide a more contemporary feel to condo living. With 1 and 2BR units, the prices range from the $150k-$350k. A 1BR + den can be purchased for $225k that is 930sf.

Chelsea South end will offer all the luxury finishes you might expect. Hardwoods, granite, tile, stainless appliances....the list goes on.

These condos will bridge the gap between the South End and Wilmore neighborhoods. Located just a block from a light rail stop, this development will offer easy access to mass transit to the residents. The site has been a buffer between two thriving neighborhoods and should connect the areas of growth for mutual benefit.
